Additional remarks Van de 17 miljoen inwoners in Nederland heeft 3,4% COPD (chronische bronchitis en/of emfyseem, 592.900 patiënten in 2016, 18% hiervan heeft ernstige COPD (ongeveer 106.700 patiënten) en 54% hiervan heeft matig tot ernstige COPD (ongeveer 320.000 patiënten) (LAN standaard COPD). Ruim de helft van alle COPD patiënten heeft eigenlijk nauwelijks of geen exacerbaties, ongeveer 44 % heeft er tenminste 1 per jaar, niet veel meer dan 10% 2 of meer. Gezien de kans op off-label gebruik is het waarschijnlijk dat het patiëntaantal uitgroeit tot een groter deel van COPD populatie. Uit declaratiegegevens blijkt dat er in 2020 ongeveer 23.000 patiënten met COPD een vaste triple-combinatie krijgen. Daarnaast zijn er ongeveer 67.000 COPD patiënten de facto op triple-therapie, maar dan als losse componenten. Gezien de concurrentie zal mogelijk tussen de 5.000 en 10.000 patiënten in aanmerking komen voor deze behandeling.
