Additional remarks Jaarlijks worden in Nederland circa 600 allogene stamceltransplantaties uitgevoerd. In naar schatting de helft van de gevallen (=300) treedt enige vorm van Graft-versus-Host-ziekte op welke behandeld wordt met steroïden. De verwachting is dat er in deze leeftijdsgroep (wordt hier de pediatrische groep bedoeld?) ongeveer 80 allo-transplantaties plaats zullen vinden. Dat zou het maximale aantal zijn indien elk kind dit als profylaxe krijgt. De frequentie hangt af van de label tekst, of het voor een subgroep is of voor alle patiënten. Als het alleen voor unrelated donors op de markt komt zal 75 tot 80% van de 80 allo-transplantaties in aanmerking komen.

De aanbevolen dosis voor abatacept voor volwassen patiënten is 10mg/kg (maximale dosis van 1.000mg) en moet worden toegediend als een intraveneus infuus van 60 minuten op de dag vóór de transplantatie (dag ‑1), gevolgd door een dosis op dag 5, 14 en 28 na transplantatie. De kost per behandeling is (op basis van 75kg): 3x€324,21x4=€3.890,52. De aanbevolen dosis voor patiënten van 6 tot 17 jaar is dezelfde als voor volwassenen, 10mg/kg (maximale dosis van 1.000mg). De aanbevolen dosis voor patiënten van 2 tot jonger dan 6 jaar is 15mg/kg op de dag vóór transplantatie (dag -1), gevolgd door 12mg/kg op dag 5, 14 en 28 na transplantatie.
