Substantiation	Het zal voor dezelfde patiënten gebruikt worden die nu geïndiceerd zijn vanaf 4 jaar. Op dit moment lijkt brivaracetam, dat ook spoedig voor deze indicatie op de markt komt, een gelijke waarde te hebben ten opzichte van lacosamide.

Er zijn 680.000 kinderen van 0-4 jaar in Nederland, dus 0,35% is 2.380. Ongeveer 10% zal moeilijk behandelbare epilepsie hebben. Dit betekent dat er maximaal 238 kinderen in aanmerking komen. Op dit moment lijkt echter brivaracetam, dat ook spoedig voor deze indicatie op de markt komt, een beter alternatief.
