Substantiation In GINA 2019 wordt in stap 4 en 5 de mogelijkheid genoemd om LAMA toe te voegen. Als er een goede indicatie voor LAMA bestaat, is een vaste triple combinatie wel patiënt vriendelijker. Er ontstaat echter minder flexibiliteit om een onderdeel van de triple combinatie te stoppen. Er bestaat daarom gevaar van overbehandeling, dus de voorschrijver dient goed de start- en stop-criteria voor ogen te houden.

Additional remarks In 2015 waren er naar schatting 613.500 personen met astma. 5%-10% van de astmapopulatie is moeilijk instelbaar (30.000-60.000). Uit analyses van declaratiecijfers blijkt dat er in 2020 ongeveer 5.000 astmapatiënten een vaste triple combinatie gebruikten. Momenteel gebruiken ruim 30.000 astmapatiënten losse triple-combinaties. Naar verwachting zal het aandeel vaste triples de komende jaren stijgen al zal zullen niet alle losse combinaties gesubstitueerd worden. Trimbow zal de markt moeten delen met Enerzair Breezhaler en Trelegy Ellipta. Als er uitgegaan wordt van een gelijke verdeling zal dit betekenen dat er 1.667 patiënten in aanmerking zullen komen voor deze behandeling met een groei over de komende jaren
